Hawaii is considered an ideal spot to introduce electric vehicles because the size of the islands limits driving distances and the state has some of the highest gas prices in the nation. Korean electric carmaker CT&T Co. of Seoul announced plans in May 2010 to build a $200 million assembly plant and showroom on Oahu with the goal of producing 10,000 all-electric vehicles annually.
