For me, freedom is the opportunity to set our own course for our lives and future, to live according to our own will and ability, and to speak our truth without reprisal.

In the past we fought in wars for the freedom of our nation, fellow man and against oppression from any source. America, the land of the free and the brave stood for those rights coming from God. It was our institutions and Constitution which guaranteed those rights – we were free.

However, greedy and corrupt politicians slowly chipped away at those freedoms fighting the Constitution by subverting it. Yet they met opposition: “We the People” and that expertly devised document.

Their present course is cunning. Through prosperity and social pressure Entitlement programs crept in. This in turn created higher taxes and social obligations which started the erosion of our freedoms. Slowly and meticulously, these programs and the deficit spending behind them enslaved our nation.

Now, a nation of adolescent servants, we give up more freedom and choices to maintain our comfort level. Individually, we spend more than we make at the expense of our future as does our government. We slowly sell our children’s birth right for a bowl of pottage.

We move our manufacturing overseas for the benefit of cheaper products and higher profits for Corporate America, losing some 400,000 jobs through NAFTA and GATT alone. We move from the largest Creditor nation to the largest Debtor nation while we kick God out of our nation and embrace the wholesale slaughter of the unborn.

We remove banking regulations and lend to ourselves money in excess of real value of our assets. We re-elect politicians who sell us deeper and deeper into servitude and debt for the bribes of “money” coming to the state or county we live in. We demand high pay, retirement and employment without accountability. We take from each other for our own prosperity while in the same community people starve.

THIS WILL STOP! One of two ways: If we demand balanced budgets and take responsibility for our selves and our communities we will dodge the coming bullet. This can only be done by limiting the power of the federal government through term limits on congress and demanding they have the same benefits and expenses in life as we have. Finally, there must be laws which benefit self-sufficiency and independence as individuals, States and Nation. Without this we will never return to true freedom.

Left to the course we are on now there will be greater and greater debt, which in turn will further erode our economy. Unemployment and social unrest will increase. Eventually the dollar will fail and all the entitlements, Social Security, Medicare, the new free Medical insurance thing, money for roads, schools etc. will be no more – gone. Then completes social breakdown, which in turn will follow with the fall of our government into the depths of a dictatorship.

We will take responsibility for our choices and change direction, face the heat and struggle to right ourselves. Or, we will fall further into servitude to our creditors and be no more the US of A.
