The Civil Beat poll raised some eyebrows around town — and understandable criticism from unsuccessful gubernatorial candidate Mufi Hannemann.
But as with the special election for the 1st Congressional District, it told the story.
Our poll said Abercrombie was ahead by 17 percentage points, with a 2.75 percent margin of error. It had Carlisle ahead of Caldwell by 7 percentage points, with a 3.5 percentage point margin of error. The final results were 21.6 and 4.1 percentage point differences.
We’ll talk with our pollsters from Merriman River Group Sunday to get more perspective on what happened.
