Hawaii’s congressional delegation jointly announced more than $13 million in federal grants will be made available to 23 education initiatives for Native Hawaiian students beginning Aug. 1.
The largest grant will go to the Institute for Native Pacific Education and Culture, which is getting $1.7 million. Other recipients include the University of Hawaii, state agencies and companies that develop Native Hawaiian curriculum, according to a press release issued by the delegation.
