Reps. Mazie Hirono and Colleen Hanabusa are cosponsoring legislation to continue housing programs for low-income Native Hawaiian families.

According to Hirono’s office, House Resolution 2648 would also expand access to loans for Native Hawaiian families. Hirono said in a statement that the measure would help fulfill families’ “dreams of owning a home.”

“It also provides loans to help families rehabilitate homes that have fallen into disrepair,” she said.

Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska) is also cosponsoring the measure.
