Housing Boost for Hawaii

U.S. Sens. Daniel Akaka and Daniel Inouye announced that Catholic Charities Hawaii will receive a $610,000 federal grant to help 125 low-income veterans and their families find permanent housing. 

In a statement released by his office, Akaka called the funding “vital,” citing staggering homeless rates among Hawaii’s vets.
