Rep. Colleen Hanabusa polled participants in her first-ever telephone town hall Tuesday night, asking which issue was of greatest concern to them.

Here’s how 462 callers responded, according to a spokeswoman for the congresswoman:

  1. Social Security: 45 percent (210 votes)

  2. Government spending: 21 percent (97 votes)

  3. Jobs: 16 percent (72 votes)

  4. Education: 7 percent (34 votes)

  5. The Environment: 5 percent (25 votes)

  6. National Security: 5 percent (24 votes)

A spokeswoman said many of the participants were seniors. Hanabusa organized the call amid increased concern from constituents about the reliability of Medicare and Social Security payments. Her office notified people of the conference call in an email newsletter, and by reaching out to seniors on Hanabusa’s voter rolls.

From the list Hanabusa provided, what’s your No. 1 concern?
