But there are still plenty of folks inside the beltway who care deeply about the Islands, and they find all kinds of ways to show it. Leolani Hill is a long-time scheduler for Sen. Daniel Akaka‘s office. Turns out, she’s also a stage actor. 

This weekend, she’ll close out a five-performance run as Queen Liliuokalani in “Cry for the Gods.” The play is showing as part of the 2011 Capital Fringe Festival.
