A coalition of organizations representing federal government workers is still waiting for an answer from the Obama administration about what will happen to them if the debt ceiling isn’t raised by Aug. 2, according to The Washington Post.
Some of the coalition’s key questions:
• Will wages and benefits be affected?
• Will agencies and departments remain operational, or will there be a government shutdown?
• Are furloughs possible?
• How will retirement and disability funds be affected?
The Washington Post reports that Office of Management and Budget Director Jacob Lew has yet to respond to the coalition, and has told the newspaper “no comment.” Read the full story.
