Akaka to Discuss Debt with Labor, Seniors

Sen. Daniel Akaka will participate in two just-scheduled conference calls about a possible debt deal, his spokesman told DC808. Congress is scrambling to learn the details of the agreement before votes in the House and Senate. 

Akaka will join other senators in discussing the plan with labor leaders and seniors’ advocates Monday afternoon.

Reporters are not invited to listen in on the calls.
