Sens. Daniel Akaka and Daniel Inouye voted in favor of the Budget Control Act of 2011 on Tuesday afternoon. The measure earned at least 60 votes it needed to pass in the Senate.
Following support for the debt deal from Reps. Colleen Hanabusa and Mazie Hirono in the House, the senators’ “yes” votes made for unanimous backing of the legislation from Hawaii’s congressional delegation.
