There were a lot of people outside of the U.S. Capitol after Tuesday’s earthquake, but we didn’t happen to come across this group from Sen. Daniel Akaka‘s office:

Thanks to Akaka spokesman Jesse Broder Van Dyke for sending the photo. Broder Van Dyke is in Honolulu, but said he has been in touch with his colleagues.

“They tell me they were evacuated within a minute of the tremor,” Broder Van Dyke wrote in an email. “They said they felt the strong jolt and that picture frames were shaken off kilter but no damage.”

So far, no “all clear” yet for Capitol workers. Broder Van Dyke said police reported needing to do some “structural checks.”
