Hawaii’s congressional delegation announced on Monday that the University of Hawaii’s community colleges will receive $24.7 million to team up with local businesses for workforce development programs.
The funding is part of $500 million in grants going to community college across the country.
Hawaii’s share of the money is aimed at sparking job growth in the agriculture, energy and health care sectors.
