The Department of Defense announced on Monday that a Hawaii-based Army soldier was killed in Afghanistan.
Staff Sgt. Houston M. Taylor, 25, died in Kunar province, Afghanistan, on Oct. 13. The Defense Department says Taylor, of Texas, died after his unit was attacked with small arms fire.
Taylor was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks.
