Inouye: ‘Most Interesting’ Senate Race Ahead

Sen. Daniel Inouye weighed in on the news that Gov. Linda Lingle is officially running for U.S. Senate.

“This election cycle should be most interesting and very active,” Inouye said in a statement issued by his spokesman. 

Inouye revealed last week that he wants Democrat Rep. Mazie Hirono to win the seat that Sen. Daniel Akaka is vacating in 2012.
