One hint: Lingle’s scheduled appearance to speak at the Pacific Club this afternoon, according to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s Derrick DePledge.
Already announced in the race are Congresswoman Mazie Hirono and former Congressman Ed Case, both Democrats.
If Lingle challenges them, the dynamic of the race will shift: Lingle will have to play up her moderate qualities, Case will argue that he’s Democratic enough to represent Hawaii voters but moderate enough to defeat Lingle, and Hirono will argue that both of her opponents are too conservative for Hawaii.
Read more from Politico about what Lingle’s candidacy would mean.
