Dozens of Mililani Middle School students were looking sharp — many of them decked out in suits and ties — on Capitol Hill. DC808 snapped some photos of the students while they met with Rep. Mazie Hirono by the King Kamehameha statue in the Capitol Visitor Center on Wednesday. 

Hirono asked the students how they came up with the money to pay for the trip from Hawaii, and one told her that their parents paid for it.

“Lucky!” Hirono said. 

Students also met with Sen. Daniel Akaka, who posted photos of the visit to his Facebook page, and Sen. Daniel Inouye. 

We couldn’t help but notice the students looked decidedly more intimidated in the presence of the senior senator (check out the photo posted to Inouye’s Twitter page).
