President Barack Obama is scheduled to announce a plan to help post-9/11 veterans find jobs.

In a conference call with reporters on Monday, the White House described a new job-finding tool called mynextmove.org to help veterans figure out how to translate military skills into civilian jobs.

“These are examples of us doing everything we can and the president doing everything he can using his existing executive authroity,” said Danielle Gray, associate counsel to the president.

White House officials said that they are still looking to Congress to pass two new tax credits for companies that hire unemployed veterans, a component of the president’s larger American Jobs Act that failed to pass in Congress.

“These executive actions are worthwhile,” said White House spokesman Josh Earnest. “But they are not a substitute for a robust congressional action.”
