Liberty and Peace are both 19 weeks old. The 45-pound turkeys were named via submissions to the Minnesota Turkey Growers Association from school children who focused on agriculture and the world food supply in lessons this year, according to the White House.
After the ceremony, Peace and Liberty will be transported to Mount Vernon, where they will live in custom-made enclosure for nationally recognized livestock.
Early birds in Hawaii can watch the ceremony live. It starts at 5:30 a.m. HST. Read up on the history of presidential turkey pardons.
