Sen. Daniel Akaka is starting the morning with a prayer breakfast, followed by a hearing on health disparities among minorities, according to a spokesman.

Waianae’s Kauila Clark, the new chair of the National Community Health Care Association, is scheduled to testify.

Later this morning, Akaka plans to attend a Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs meeting. On the agenda: Postal Service reform.

UPDATED: An earlier version of this post incorrectly referred to the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs meeting as a “hearing.”
