U.S. Retail Sales Make Strides

U.S. retail sales climbed last month, the U.S. Commerce Department reported on Tuesday morning. 

Retail sales were up 1.1 percent last month compared with September. The Wall Street Journal points out that an uptick in Internet shopping and purchases at electronics stores demonstrates Americans are willing to shell out money for holiday shopping.
