Don’t get too excited — these aren’t performance audits. But in case you want to look at the books, Hawaii Auditor Marion Higa has just released a new set of reports focusing on trust funds and revolving funds under five state offices.

The most useful one is the Office of Hawaiian Affairs analysis. Even OHA’s annual reports aren’t as detailed.

From our hawaiimoneyblog:

The audits, required every five years, cover the:

  • Office of the Governor
  • Office of the Lieutenant Governor
  • Department of Education
  • Hawaii State Public Library System
  • Office of Hawaiian Affairs

The audits basically present a five-year financial summary for the various funds. “We do not present any conclusions about the effectiveness of the program, its management, or whether the program should be continued,” the report says.

The report covers the A-Plus after school program revolving fund (page 9) and the school bus fare revolving fund (page 14) under the DOE, as well as the Public Land Trust under OHA (page 29).
