Tulsi Gabbard, the Honolulu City Council member running for the U.S. Congress (2nd District), is receiving the support of EMILY’s List, the influential political action committee.

“Tulsi is a leader in her community and a prime example of what a strong woman can accomplish in office,” said Stephanie Schriock, President of EMILY’s List, in a press release. “Throughout her career, Tulsi has promoted progressive environmental policies and worked with at-risk youth to create better opportunities for their future.”

Gabbard told Civil Beat she was excited by the endorsement and said that, when it comes to abortion, she is pro-choice.
