Rep. Colleen Hanabusa issued a statement about the end of the Iraq war, which was marked with a ceremony in Baghdad on Thursday.
“Our nation has waited a long time for this day” Hanabusa said. “I can only hope that if those who served in Iraq were to return there in the future and take a look around, they would feel that their time spent there was worthwhile, and not an unwarranted sacrifice.”
The congresswoman, who is a member of the House Armed Services Committee, thanked service members and their families for their “courage and commitment.”
