Patsy Matsu Takemoto Mink (Dec. 6, 1927 — Sept. 28, 2002) is being remembered today via Twitter by Emily’s List (@emilyslist, 10,287 followers) and the Sewall-Belmont House and Museum (@SBHMuseum, 481 followers).

The D.C.-based museum, which celebrates women’s progress, and the female-focused PAC recognize that Mink was the first Japanese-American woman elected to Congress and played a key role in passage of Title IX regarding gender discrimination in education.
