Road crews were busy last night. Nixle alerts from the City of Honolulu kept cell phones buzzing throughout the night as heavy rain closed H1 Freeway in both directions around 3:30 a.m.
A mudslide closed the westbound H1 at School Street for four hours while “heavy ponding” closed all eastbound lanes near Punahou Street. The lanes reopened around 7 a.m.
