Sens. Daniel Akaka and Daniel Inouye both signed up to participate in a Senate Secret Santa gift exchange, which was planned as a fun way to bridge the partisan divide in Congress.

Senators were scheduled to swap gifts worth $10 or less on Monday evening. The lucky lawmaker who has Akaka as his Santa: Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa.

A spokesman for Akaka said that the senator planned to give Harkin some local treats like macadamia nuts, as well as a postcard of the Statue of Freedom, which tops the U.S. Capitol. (Akaka has worked hard to preserve the statue’s legacy, and to educate people about its history).
