Judge denies request to keep police major locked up before trial

On Monday afternoon, federal judge denied a request to keep a Honolulu police major locked up until his trial on corruption charges.

Last Thursday the judge granted Major Carlton Nishimura bail. But the government asked the court to hold off on releasing him while it filed an appeal.
