Inside Honolulu had asked for the list. It contains many local companies, which should please advocates of the rail project that have touted local jobs as a primary benefit.
It’s based on information provided by the main contractor, Kiewit, when that company submitted its proposals for the construction contracts, HART says.
“Our procurement team is in the process of verifying that the named subcontractors were in fact issued contracts,” HART spokesman Scott Ishikawa wrote in an email. “This is something currently being conducted for the HART board.”
