India is well on its way to achieving 20,000 megawatts of solar capacity by 2020 — which is a lot of solar —  according to a story today in the New York Times. 

And the prices for the energy are way below what the government expected. 

With Hawaiian Electric negotiating prices for wind farms that are several times the national average, it could be a model worth looking into.
