The Hawaiian Home Lands Trust will hold two meetings on the Big Island this week to discuss a new homesteading opportunity with applicants on the island waitlist. The first meeting is tonight in Kamuela, the second tomorrow in Hilo. Read more here.

In related news, the Hawaiian Homes Commission this week approved of the positive EIS for the Ka Makana Alii Conceptual Master Plan. The 67.7-acre parcel in East Kapolei will be a regional mixed-use center, the third-largest shopping center on Oahu.
