Looks like Hawaii’s getting a new college. Pacific Womens College, founded by a former Hawaii Pacific University professor, is accepting applications for courses to begin as soon as January.

It is not accredited yet, but the college’s focus will be on providing an alternative for women who had to halt their educations for family or careers, or just need “a more woman-friendly learning structure,” according to a press release.

PWC expects to launch online courses in January 2012 and to expand to classrooms by August.
