honolulu-politics:

It’s official. The sidewalk belongings ban is now law.

Mayor Peter Carlisle held a signing ceremony to affix his signature this afternoon at Honolulu Hale.

He said the city will enforce the law “indiscriminately” — meaning it won’t specifically target either homeless citizens or the Occupy Honolulu encampment.

He was flanked by Honolulu City Council Chair Ernie Martin and the bill’s introducer, Tulsi Gabbard. Also there, but not taking to the podium, was state homeless czar Marc Alexander.
