December has arrived, and the White House is officially decorated for the holiday season. Some of the things you might see if you visit 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue over the holidays:

• A library filled with 2,700 books and a display of replicated holiday cards, letters and seasonal memorabilia dating back to the Eisenhower administration

• The George W. Bush state china on display

• The East Room transformed into a wintry scene with four Christmas trees covered in quartz ornaments and paper leaves

• The official White House Christmas tree — more than 18 feet tall — in the Blue Room

• A 400-pound White House replica gingerbread house in the State Dining Room

On Thursday evening, the first family is scheduled to attend the national Christmas tree lighting ceremony, and President Barack Obama will give remarks.
