UH Manoa: Football Without Representation

The University of Hawaii needs a new football coach since head coach Greg McMackin is leaving after a losing season.

Ian Lind points out that not one of the six members on the search committee for a new coach represents UH Manoa. It’s indicative of the divide between academics and athletics on campus, he observes.

But UH is not unique in this respect. Athletic programs often segregate their athletes into their own dorms, dining halls and even courses. How’s that for unity?
