KITV reports that Gov. Neil Abercrombie suffered from dizziness on Dec. 23, preventing him from greeting Barack Obama when he arrived in Honolulu.

It’s the second time that Abercrombie’s vertigo has forced him to alter his official plans since he became governor a year ago.

Vertigo, caused by problems in the inner ear, leads to dizziness that can make it difficult for people to stand or walk.

The governor and his wife are currently vacationing on Lanai.
