President Barack Obama is honoring Kauai’s Desiree Vea as a “champion of change” in a ceremony at the White House on Thursday. You can watch the ceremony live at 7 a.m. HST.

Vea works to help homeless families transition to permanent rentals. Earlier this year, she conducted a poverty simulation workshop at the Hawaii State Capitol.
