Former state homeless coordinator Marc Alexander on Friday evening admitted to Hawaii News Now that he left his government job because news of his affair with a “consenting adult” had surfaced.

“I resigned when the news of an affair I had with a consenting adult woman, while I was an ordained member of the Catholic priesthood, became public,” Alexander said in a letter to Hawaii News Now

“Clearly, my conduct violated my vows of celibacy, which I deeply regret,” he said.

When he resigned suddenly this month, Alexander simply stated that he was leaving for personal reasons.
