Ikaika Anderson raised about $85,000 in the last six months of 2011, according to a report filed with the Campaign Spending Commission Sunday.

Anderson is the second incumbent Honolulu City Council member up for re-election this year to file this month. Tom Berg raised $0 last year. The deadline for reports for all county candidates is tomorrow.

Anderson raised $86,317.37 and spent $8,707.49 between July 1 and Dec. 31 of last year, according to his filings. He had nearly $100,000 cash on hand as of the end of the reporting period.

Two donors kicked in the maximum of $4,000 in the period — Signature Cab Holdings and Hawaii Operating Engineers Industry, interestingly with an Alameda, Calif., mailing address.

Two others — Ironworkers for Better Government Local 625 and Painters Local Union 1791 PAC — donated smaller amounts to bring their total contributions for the election cycle up to the $4,000 max, according to the filing.

Many donations came at or immediately after his $1,000-per-plate fundraisers held Sept. 15 and Sept. 29 at Michel’s at the Colony Surf. Anderson spent about $5,000 combined on food and beverages for those two events, a filing shows.

No other candidates have announced a challenge for Anderson’s District 3 seat.
