hawaii-politics:

That’s the aim of House Bill 2846, which would designate Aug. 4 as “President Barack Obama Day.”

Obama, as folks here well know, was born on that day in 1961 in Honolulu. HB 2846 briefly recaps Obama’s life and record, stating, “Barack Obama personifies Hawaii to the world and has demonstrated the ideals of aloha he learned in his youth.” Birthers notwithstanding.

The bill, sponsored by Reps. Tom Brower, John Mizuno and Karen Awana, awaits introduction in the 2012 Hawaii Legislature.
