honolulu-politics:

This just in: Mayor Peter Carlisle raised $53,222 in the six-month period that ended Dec. 31, according to a filing today with the Hawaii Campaign Spending Commission.

That’s less than Honolulu City Council Vice Chair Ikaika Anderson, who has no challenger in his re-election race, and less than Council Chair Ernie Martin, who’s not up for re-election until 2014. It is more than Prosecutor Keith Kaneshiro, who’s looking for a new four-year term in Carlisle’s former job.

We’ll have a full story later with details about where the money came from and how it sets up Carlisle for his re-election race against challengers Kirk Caldwell and Ben Cayetano.
