Former Congressman Ed Case said in a statement that he raised “substantially less” money last quarter than U.S. Senate opponents Linda Lingle and Mazie Hirono.

The Lingle campaign announced on Wednesday that the former governor raised nearly $1.8 million last quarter. Hirono raised $624,363 in that time.

Case said he’s still working on his campaign finance paperwork, which is due to the Federal Election Commission at the end of the month. Case also said his campaign is on track and that it raised “what we need.”

“That’s
the
 whole
problem
 with
DC
today:
 all
 they
care
about
is
who can
rake
in
the
 most
money,
who
they
can
control, and
 not
who
can
get
the
job
done,” Case said. “If
it’s
just
about
 another
Senator
bought
and
paid
for
before she’s
sworn
in,
we’ll
never
fix
our
 problems.”
