We don’t generally publish corporate press releases in this space, but an interesting one came across our desk from RevoluSun early this morning.
It seems the solar energy company has kicked in $5,000 toward a community campaign that would build a new “innovative” neighborhood playground in Niu Valley. (That’s an image of the design above.)
The initiative has raised $38,000 toward its $100,000 goal, according to NiuValleyPlayground.com. Both Mayor Peter Carlisle and Honolulu City Council member Stanley Chang are quoted in the press release.
Carlisle: “The City is currently working with the community in a unique private-public partnership to build the community’s first playground. … I applaud the efforts of this community. We are hopeful that with enough support, this long-awaited project can come to fruition during tough economic times.”
Chang: “As the only park in the Valley, Niu Valley Park is a central location for sports and outdoor activities for the entire community. … The residents have been working for several years to build this playground and I fully support this initiative.”
