One left over from yesterday’s Executive Matters and Legal Affairs Committee meeting.

Bill 10, which would align city ordinances governing the Ethics Commission with the city’s charter, finally passed out of committee after languishing there for many months.

At issue is the requirement that complaints be written. That could stifle whistleblowers who don’t want to put their allegations in writing and attach their names.

The committee passed a CD2 different from the one that had been floated in advance of the meeting. The new version will be posted online soon, and will be up for final reading at the full City Council‘s Jan. 25 meeting.
