Initial unemployment claims in Hawaii fell by 25 percent last week, compared to a year ago, according to the state Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism.
There were a total of 2,065 initial jobless claims files statewide during the week ending Dec. 31, which included the Dec. 26 Christmas holiday. That compared to 2,752 claims filed during the same week in 2010.
