From a city press release:

Mayor Peter Carlisle has signed a proclamation declaring January 18 “Hire Our Heroes Day,” in support of a major job fair and a U.S. Chamber of Commerce initiative to help veterans and military spouses find employment.

“Veterans are disciplined, project-focused and team players,” Carlisle said. “They have the attitudes and skills that make them valuable employees.”

Hire Our Heroes will be the main focus of Job Quest, Hawaii’s oldest and largest job fair. Recruiters from over 125 local businesses, mainland organizations, military branches and government agencies will be accepting applications for available jobs on Wednesday, January 18th, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Neal Blaisdell Center.
