Timed for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, the Hawaii Public Housing Authority is inviting “community members, tenants, organizations, and stakeholders to assist in bringing dozens of units that currently stand vacant to occupancy standards.”
HPHA says its Oahu Federal Family Waitlist contains more than 13,000 families in need of subsidized housing.
Housing Authority Executive Director Hakim Ouansafi says the goal of the “I Have A Dream” campaign is to return about 150 vacant housing units to occupancy over the next several months.
