The 23 Hawaiian sovereignty protesters arrested at Iolani Palace during APEC are awaiting trial this morning in Honolulu District Court. They face second degree trespassing charges, a petty misdemeanor.

State deputy attorney general Vince Kanemoto told Civil Beat that 12 of the defendants are being represented by attorney Michael Green, who is off island. Kanemoto said he will ask for a continuance for those cases. For the remaining, he said he will attempt to try the remaining 11 co-defendants as one case before Judge Dean Ochiai today.
