A selective list of bills and briefings at the state Capitol for Tuesday (Jan. 24):

• House Labor and Public Employment will meet at 9 a.m. in Conference Room 309. The agenda includes a bill that would increase the minimum wage to $7.75 this year and to $8.25 next year.

House Economic Revitalization and Business will meet at 8:30 a.m. in Conference Room 312. The agenda includes a bill setting up a task force to study the idea of a state-owned bank. Also, there is this bill:

Establishes a preference for the use of American iron, steel, and manufactured goods in the construction, alteration, or repair of public works.

House and Senate Human Services will meet at 1:30 p.m. in Conference Room 016. The agenda centers on the Long-Term Care Commission‘s recommendations to the Legislature, and to allow community advocates and kupuna support groups to weigh in.

House Judiciary will meet at 2 p.m. in Conference Room 325. The agenda includes proposed changes to the state’s Sunshine Law, campaign spending laws and voter registration.
