“The survey released today by Civil Beat does not line up with our own polling and appears to be slanted to the Democrat candidates,” Lingle Campaign Manager Bob Lee said in a statement. “Even the Democrat Senate Congressional Committee (DSCC) has publicly dismissed the methodology of the automatic phone survey, calling it ‘troubling.’”
The DSCC dismissed the Civil Beat poll after results showed Democrats Ed Case and Mazie Hirono are neck-and-neck.
“I would expect the candidate who doesn’t come out on top in the poll to attack the results,” said Civil Beat Editor and General Manager John Temple. “It’s par for the course. The DSCC critique of the poll was misguided from the get-go and was based on faulty assumptions. Civil Beat has a record of producing accurate political polls. Readers should look back to the 2010 special, primary and general elections if they have questions.”
